Part of the OCR GCSE Combined Science curriculum.
OCR GCSE Combined Science P4 Waves and Radioactivity is a step-by-step online learn guide for GCSE students in Years 10 and 11, mapped to the OCR specification (OCR GCSE (9–1) Gateway Science Combined Science A (J250) – Topic P4 Waves and radioactivity). It covers describing waves, wave speed and measuring waves, the electromagnetic spectrum, uses and dangers of EM waves, atoms, isotopes and ions, radioactive decay and half-life and radiation safety, then brings it all together with mixed retrieval and exam practice.
There are 23 short steps of about 15 minutes (roughly 6 hours of learning), each made of bite-size explanations with key words, tables and examples, and every bite-size is followed by an activity you check straight away. Key terms include Transverse wave, Longitudinal wave, Wave equation, Wave speed, Electromagnetic spectrum, Speed of light, Ionising radiation, Refraction, Nucleus, Atomic number, Alpha particle and Beta particle.
