1. Who we are
Teach io (teachio.co.uk) is provided by Echo IT Group, the trading name of Richard Evans, a sole trader, of 40 Linley Wood Road, Walsall, WS9 0JZ. Contact us at admin@echoitgroup.com.
2. Our plans and prices
Current prices are always shown on our pricing page. We are not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added: the price shown is the full price you pay.
- Free account: free learn guides, the first lesson of every course and, for teachers, one free assessment with full results.
- Student plans: KS3 £2.99 a year; GCSE £4.99 a year. Each starts with a 7-day free trial. Student plans add exam practice, retrieval practice, saved progress, the tracker and badges. Marked assessments with reports are not included in Student plans.
- Holiday workshops: £11.99 a session or £19.99 a day; one-year pass £124.99; two-year pass £208.99. What each pass includes is set out on the holiday workshops page.
- Teacher plans: £59, £99 or £179 a year for up to 60, 150 or 300 pupils assessed in a year, with a 14-day free trial.
- School plans: £299, £499 or £699 a year, by pupils on roll (up to 400, up to 1,000, or over 1,000), with unlimited staff. Every School plan includes Reflect & Reset and Catch-up.
- Reflect & Reset on its own: £299 a year per school, paid annually by invoice.
- Multi-academy trusts: discounted prices agreed in writing.
We will tell you at least 30 days before any price change applies to your renewal.
3. Free trials and renewal
- We take your card details when you start a trial but do not charge you until the trial ends. Cancel before then and you pay nothing.
- If you don’t cancel, we charge the plan price when the trial ends, then every year on the same date until you cancel.
- We email you before each yearly renewal.
- You can cancel at any time from your account page or by emailing us. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
4. Your right to cancel (consumers)
If you are buying as a consumer (for example a parent or student), you have the right to cancel within 14 days of your purchase. See our cancellation and refund policy for how this works, including for holiday workshops.
5. Teachers and schools: payment and renewal
- Schools can pay by card or purchase order. Card subscriptions renew automatically each year; we email the billing contact before renewal.
- For purchase orders, we issue an invoice on receipt of the PO. Payment is due within 30 days of the invoice date.
- Schools may cancel before the renewal date by emailing us; access continues to the end of the paid year. Fees for the current year are not refundable once the plan has started, except where the law requires.
- Schools and teachers buying for their school buy as a business, so consumer cancellation rights do not apply.
6. Accounts and acceptable use
Keep your login details private. Accounts are for the named user, or for the subscribing school’s staff and pupils. Do not copy, resell or redistribute our courses, assessments or learn guides. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
Pupils under 18 should have a parent or carer’s agreement to buy a plan, and a parent or carer should complete the payment.
7. Our content
All courses, assessments, learn guides and other materials belong to us or our licensors. A subscription gives you a personal licence (or, for schools, a licence for use within the school) while it is active.
8. Availability and changes
We aim to keep Teach io available at all times but cannot promise it will be uninterrupted. We may update or improve content and features. If we make a change that significantly reduces what you paid for, you can cancel and receive a pro-rata refund for the unused period.
9. Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights, or our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Otherwise, our total liability to a school or teacher is limited to the fees paid in the 12 months before the claim. We are not responsible for exam results.
10. Your data
How we use personal data, including pupil data, is set out in our privacy notice. For schools we act as a data processor and provide a data processing agreement.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
