Part of the OCR GCSE Combined Science curriculum.
OCR GCSE Combined Science C2 Elements, Compounds and Mixtures is a step-by-step online learn guide for GCSE students in Years 10 and 11, mapped to the OCR specification (OCR GCSE (9–1) Gateway Science Combined Science A (J250) – C2 Elements, compounds and mixtures). It covers pure substances and formulations, relative formula mass and empirical formulae, separating mixtures, chromatography, metals, non-metals and the periodic table, chemical bonding, structure, bonding and properties and carbon structures and nanoparticles, then brings it all together with mixed retrieval and exam practice.
There are 26 short steps of about 15 minutes (roughly 6.5 hours of learning), each made of bite-size explanations with key words, tables and examples, and every bite-size is followed by an activity you check straight away. Key terms include Pure substance, Mixture, Relative atomic mass (Ar), Relative formula mass (Mr), Filtration, Residue, Stationary phase, Mobile phase, Group, Period, Ionic bond and Covalent bond.
