Part of the KS3 Science curriculum.
KS3 Science Year 8: Chemical reactions is a step-by-step online learn guide for Key Stage 3 pupils in Years 7 to 9. It covers physical and chemical changes, word and symbol equations, conservation of mass, combustion and thermal decomposition, acids, alkalis and the pH scale, neutralisation and making salts and acids with metals and energy changes, then brings it all together with mixed retrieval and unit challenge.
There are 23 short steps of about 15 minutes (roughly 6 hours of learning), each made of bite-size explanations with key words, tables and examples, and every bite-size is followed by an activity you check straight away. Key terms include Reactant, Product, Word equation, Formula, Conservation of mass, Closed system, Combustion, Hydrocarbon, pH, Acid, Neutralisation and Salt.
