Part of the KS3 Maths curriculum.
KS3 Maths Year 9: Pythagoras' theorem and introduction to trigonometry is a step-by-step online learn guide for Key Stage 3 pupils in Years 7 to 9. It covers squares, square roots and the hypotenuse, finding the hypotenuse, finding a shorter side, pythagoras in context and on coordinate grids, introducing the trigonometric ratios, finding missing sides using trigonometry and finding missing angles using trigonometry, then brings it all together with mixed retrieval and unit challenge.
There are 23 short steps of about 15 minutes (roughly 6 hours of learning), each made of bite-size explanations with key words, tables and examples, and every bite-size is followed by an activity you check straight away. Key terms include Right angle, Hypotenuse, Surd, Exact answer, Shorter side, Rearrange, Converse, Diagonal, Opposite, Adjacent, SOH CAH TOA and Degree mode.
