Part of the Edexcel GCSE Combined Science curriculum.
Edexcel GCSE Combined Science 4 Waves is a step-by-step online learn guide for GCSE students in Years 10 and 11, mapped to the Edexcel specification (Pearson Edexcel GCSE Combined Science (1SC0) – Physics Topic 4 Waves). It covers waves and wave types, describing waves, wave speed equations, measuring the speed of sound and ripples, core practical: waves in a fluid and a solid and refraction at boundaries, then brings it all together with mixed retrieval and exam practice.
There are 20 short steps of about 15 minutes (roughly 5 hours of learning), each made of bite-size explanations with key words, tables and examples, and every bite-size is followed by an activity you check straight away. Key terms include Wave, Medium, Amplitude, Wavelength, v = f × λ, v = x ÷ t, Speed of sound in air, Reaction time, Core practical, Independent variable, Refraction and Normal.
