Part of the AQA GCSE Combined Science curriculum.
AQA GCSE Combined Science 5.1 Atomic Structure and the Periodic Table is a step-by-step online learn guide for GCSE students in Years 10 and 11, mapped to the AQA specification (AQA GCSE Combined Science: Trilogy (8464) – 5.1 Atomic structure and the periodic table). It covers atoms, elements and compounds, mixtures and separating them, developing the model of the atom, inside the atom, relative atomic mass and electronic structure, the periodic table, noble gases and alkali metals and the halogens, then brings it all together with mixed retrieval and exam practice.
There are 26 short steps of about 15 minutes (roughly 6.5 hours of learning), each made of bite-size explanations with key words, tables and examples, and every bite-size is followed by an activity you check straight away. Key terms include Element, Compound, Mixture, Filtration, Plum pudding model, Alpha scattering, Proton, Electron, Relative atomic mass, Abundance, Group and Period.
