Part of the Eduqas GCSE Combined Science curriculum.
Eduqas GCSE Combined Science Topics 1–3 Substances, Atomic Structure and Formulae is a step-by-step online learn guide for GCSE students in Years 10 and 11, mapped to the Eduqas specification (Eduqas GCSE (9–1) Combined Science (C430) – Concepts in Chemistry, Topics 1–3: Pure substances and mixtures; Particles and atomic structure; Chemical formulae, equations and amount of substance). It covers pure substances and mixtures, separating mixtures and chromatography, the particle model and states of matter, atomic structure, isotopes, relative atomic mass and ions, chemical formulae and equations and conservation of mass and amount of substance, then brings it all together with mixed retrieval and exam practice.
There are 23 short steps of about 15 minutes (roughly 6 hours of learning), each made of bite-size explanations with key words, tables and examples, and every bite-size is followed by an activity you check straight away. Key terms include Element, Compound, Filtration, Crystallisation, Particle model, Melting point, Proton, Neutron, Isotopes, Relative atomic mass, Chemical formula and Balanced equation.
