Part of the KS3 Science curriculum.
KS3 Science Year 9: Atomic structure and the periodic table is a step-by-step online learn guide for Key Stage 3 pupils in Years 7 to 9. It covers the structure of the atom, developing the model of the atom, atomic number, mass number and isotopes, electron arrangements, mendeleev and the modern periodic table, group 1, Group 7 and Group 0 and the reactivity series and displacement, then brings it all together with mixed retrieval and unit challenge.
There are 23 short steps of about 15 minutes (roughly 6 hours of learning), each made of bite-size explanations with key words, tables and examples, and every bite-size is followed by an activity you check straight away. Key terms include Proton, Neutron, Plum pudding model, Alpha particle, Atomic number, Mass number, Electron shell, Electron arrangement, Mendeleev, Atomic weight, Alkali metal and Halogen.
